CHURROS
A Spanish - Mexican snack which is easy to make during parties or tea time.
Yields: 10-12
Time : 25 Mins
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1/2 cup Water
- 3 pinch Salt
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 large Egg
- Cinnamon and sugar to coat
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine sugar, water, butter and salt in a saucepan.
- Heat to boil and reduce heat to low.
- Add flour and stir well, Cook over medium heat for two mins.( you will notice a ball forming at this stage)
- Remove from heat and let it cool for about 10-15 mins.
- In a small cup slightly beat the egg and set aside.
- Once the dough is cool add the egg little by little and incorporate it with the dough.
- Place prepared dough in a pastry bag with a large star tip.
- Heat oil, once heated pipe 3-4 inch sections into the hot oil and fry until golden.
- In a plate spread cinnamon and sugar to coat, remove churros from oil and toss in the cinnamon sugar mix.
- Serve immediately with chocolate dip & Enjoy!!
NOTES:
⇒ Coat churros in cinnamon sugar mix once they are taken out of the oil, then only the churros will be coated well.
