CHURROS

A Spanish - Mexican snack which is easy to make during parties or tea time.



Yields: 10-12
Time : 25 Mins

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 3 pinch Salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 large Egg
  • Cinnamon and sugar to coat


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine sugar, water, butter and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Heat to boil and reduce heat to low.
  3.  Add flour and stir well, Cook over medium heat for two mins.( you will notice a ball forming at this stage)
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool for about 10-15 mins.
  5. In a small cup slightly beat the egg and set aside.
  6. Once the dough is cool add the egg little by little and incorporate it with the dough.
  7. Place prepared dough in a pastry bag with a large star tip.
  8. Heat oil, once heated pipe 3-4 inch sections into the hot oil and fry until golden.
  9. In a plate spread cinnamon and sugar to coat, remove churros from oil and toss in the cinnamon sugar mix.
  10. Serve immediately with chocolate dip & Enjoy!!  

NOTES:
⇒ Coat churros in cinnamon sugar mix once they are taken out of the oil, then only the churros will be coated well.
